Greetings, True Believers! It has been a long time since I have written a blog entry. Looking back on this blog made me realize I kinda of miss updating this site. When I was in Japan, I had a lot of satisfaction in updating y'all and showing my friends and family my travels in another part of the world. But first, a little update about myself.
I was a junior in college when I studied abroad in Japan and then traveled to China. I returned home to finish off my college career and received a B.S. in Political Science from Appalachian State University. My travels greatly changed me and made me more confident in myself. I made a lot more friends when I returned to Boone through student government and my fraternity. I greatly aided both institutions and came out better as a leader for it. My friends in both communities have shaped me a lot and I want to say thank you. I immediately decided to obtain my Master's at George Mason University's School of Public Policy. It has been a great time so far and I am enjoying my time reading and learning more about my study, International Commerce and Policy. I am trying to get a Master's in order to look better for future employment, either in Washington, DC or overseas. My number one ambition is to become a Foreign Service Officer for the State Department, but I am looking up options at the Department of Commerce, Department of Agriculture, other international agencies, or even the Navy. I have a lot of ambition and I don't plan to give up on my dreams, true believers.
So that's that... kind of. I am leaving today to study abroad at Oxford University for a few weeks in the United Kingdom. I am greatly excited for this, but wanted to update my friends and family, not only of my travels, but also my experience living in another country on the other side of the pond. So, I plan to update this blog again with pictures and entries, so everyone can participate in the fun. I hope this helps my mother's class, too, as she is a social studies teacher. Well, that should do it for now. I am watching the Olympics and I am about to get ready for my flight over. I'll be touring the country for a bit before I go to Oxford. I sincerely hope I can update y'all by the weekend. So stay tuned, as I am back to blogging again. Until next time, Excelsior!
