Greetings, True Believers! Another exciting entry is coming your way! Well, not exactly exciting, more like informative. Today I picked up my Chinese Visa. It has been over a week since I signed up for one and now here it is. I am ready for China. My Mom is coming over to China, with my Dad handling all of the travel arrangements. It will be four weeks from yesterday that I will be departing for China and I am really excited. I still have a lot to do in Japan, such as Finals and other trips, but this is just another stepping stone for me. Life couldn't get any sweeter.
So last week, I applied for my Chinese Visa with my friend. We both went to the Chinese Embassy to see where it was at. It is actually very close to my school, within walking distance. We had to walk a lot of back roads, but we found it. It was at the top of a hill, fortified, and surrounded by guards. Both times, I have seen Chinese protestors, but they were very small in number. Japan and China have a serious history, one involving strife and little resolution. It is all very complicated and one that I'll save for when referring to history books.
As we were walking back, my friend and I saw Tokyo Tower. We pass it everyday to class and we thought, "Why not today?" We had off from school and decided to check it out. It has always been my attention to see Tokyo Tower again and get to the top of it. It is one of the tallest landmarks in all of Japan, one that is actually taller than the Eiffel Tower. We thought we would not be able to get to the top because it was a holiday, but sure enough, there were people going to the top when we got there.
At Tokyo Tower, we spent around $8 on tickets to get to the middle section of the tower. We arrived just in time for the sunset and it was quite a sight. We could see basically the whole country, including Mount Fuji, which we had climbed. It cost another $6 to take another elevator up to the top and we decided to. The night was alive and we got a lot of photos. We spent a good two hours there, witnessing the moon in the sky, a few concerts, the lighting of a Christmas Tree, a glass floor viewing, and a shrine for the tower. So here is a view of Japan from the top of Tokyo Tower and the tower itself.
Well, that's all for now. My next entry will detail my adventures with a samurai, a temple, and a time when I got completely... naked? More to come, along with my sumo workshop this weekend, this blog isn't slowing down anytime soon. Stay Tuned, True Believers!

One last photo: My friend and I found this banner funny. Look at the grammar. Look at it. Think about it. Yea, it is funny.
